Ofil's added value to the mission of protecting civilian air transportation is in providing the key component of the defense suite – the missile-warning sensor.

A SBUV sensor detects the UV radiation of the approaching missile (rocket/ missile plume detection sensor) and hands over its coordinates to the fine-tracker and jamming system.
The SBUV remote sensing technology allows unequivocal detection of potential threats with very low clutter providing excellent-false alarm-rate.
Ofil already gained relevant experience in sensor development and optics design for SBUV detection.
